The Brooklyn Law School ACLU is dedicated to defending civil rights. The BLS-ACLU has a three-fold mission of education in our academic community, education in the community, and advocacy.
Here at Brooklaw, we raise awareness of threats to civil liberties by hosting civil rights advocates and public officials, organizing panels, and debating the Federalist Society twice a year on pressing contemporary issues.
In the community, we educate individuals on their rights through our “Know Your Rights Street Education” pro-bono program.
And finally, this year we are focused on increasing our advocacy activity through collaboration with groups on campus and in the community, building a legislative and lobbying initiative, and providing our members with new forums to make their voices heard.
